K1 won't work in a canister filter. I would personally spend the extra $10 and get an aquaclear 70. I use AC 70s on 2 of my 40s and they work great. I have been using them for well over a year without an issue. The sunsun canisters I have used start showing signs of wear after the first few months of use.
