any body have these here? Barramundi has defenetly peaked my interest since all these posts on them in the photo lounge, are they easy to keep? I obviously know that both the nile and barramundi get very large, and I am not worried about that. But how are they to keep. Do they eat frozen food/ pellets? are they aggresive towards other tankmates? I know the nile perch eats all the cichlids in the wild haha, but with things like arowana and peacock bass they should be fine right? Id just like some insight, thanks.

Barra are great fish to keep, i have 3 of them i feed mine pellets and for a treat goldfish, ive also got silver perch and a tandanus tandanus catfish all get along great. They are not aggresive at all the perch actually pushes them around sometimes!!!! As far as cichlids go i dont know the only worry might be that they will eat them!!

I've had a barra for a little while now. They are pretty easy to keep, mine is just fed on pellets and he is kept with a few cichlids and a turtle. The turtle has a go at him every now and then, even though the barra is twice the size of the turtle, on occassion the barra has a nip back but is never aggressive towards the other fish of the same size. They are fine to keep as long as you don't keep them with anything that fits in their mouths .Mine has grown pretty fast thou.

I've kept Niles ( regrettably never even saw Barras ). Niles are not agressive, but I find them one of the hardest to switch over from live feeders...

ive bought 2 barramundi in the last month and both of them over the 16'' mark. one was killed by my 16'' murray cod and the other was absolutely mauled by the murray but i managed to save it luckily. ive found them to be easily picked on.
