NYC tri-state Meet!

Dude i havent been putting much energy in... Im usually the one that plans things... now ill help a bit... this isnt going to work with on person trying to set it up... did you call aquarium adventures yet? All we need is a few dates that they can give us discounts not just the club memeber discounts and we can work from there... Liz i see is form newyork also and shes a mod so she should be able to help with rounding up some more ny folks... ill pm her now and see wat she says.. it seems like not too many Newyorkers visit this, but they visit the buy/sell threads heavy...
thanks yeah she would prob help also want this to be a sticky . my goal here to have a eastern mfk group society where we meet everyother month do trips hold auctions etc just like any other aquarium club but better on steriods lol let me know give here the link to this thread
Did you ring aquarium adventure? I say we do it on a saturday so we do not have to rush to get there and rush to get out... No matter what time saturday rush hour in longisland is not that bad. The shirt thing can wait unless someone is willing to buy all the shirts and sell them at the meet and hope everyone buys...

This is the place to state what you have to trade or sell before hand. this first meet is a feeler meet so we meet up everyone tells everyone there user name, and what they specialize in keeping and we let everyone make their own conversations as we walk around the store... theres a red lobster or grand lux cafe not too far from there for food whom ever wants to eat... The only thing stopping this right now is lack of a set date and rain date. and members responses here

MFK usually does a few meets in the tri-state area every year, starting in the spring. We usually hit places like Shark Aquarium in NJ, H20 Custom Aquatics/Country Critters in Long Island and some other prearranged places. I will speak to neoprodigy about helping to get this meet off the ground. In the meantime, keep up with the organization of this one and I'll be in touch. Thanks guys....-DC

Sorry I really cannot be of any assistance to you with any organizing the event, but you really should be in contact with multiple large locations to see if they would be willing to accommodate the group, and not rely on one location. Also try and get a feel of how many attendees will be going, usually vendors tend to be particular with the amount of people as they want to be able to sell items.
The more the merrier.
GL. If you need any advice I would be more than glad to assist on that end. I used to organize groups for meets for a driving club within the tri-state area, so you can understand how much work is usually involved in getting something like that together.

I'm in if it's early summer. Odds are my internship will not be in NYC so later in the summer won't work for me. I'll keep checking this thread.
