Boy tough crowd. :) Those four corner pieces alone would support a 75 if you could get them to stand up by themselves. :ROFL:

i have to agree. not everyone feels the need for mass amounts of overkill. just think about what a typical purchased stand is made from, mdf and brads.

I'm very confident it would do fine as is. It is extremely sturdy and dead-on square. But I'm not done yet.

This is my second stand. The first was for a 110 gallon and I SERIOUSLY overbuilt it (rated to hold over 3000 lbs). I also made it to hold a 27" TV and a VCR. If looked fine, but after all that work and planning, everytime I looked at it all I could think was -> rectangular box with a TV in it and an aquarium on top.

I wanted to go a different route with this one.

i work at a sawmill 4 20 years .oak is very solid wood.very pence. will work just fine. we make oak flooring. will uphold what you give it.
