Interesting looking forward to seeing how low this thing will drop them

You mentioned Ti-carbon fibers ... Might very well do the trick of initial adsorption. And we don't know what the original medium really is, either.

Interesting experiment, I'll be curious to see how it performs over the next few months.

Not sure if i can post links to other forums, but well

I have read that, but my problem is that the person who published it is also the person who makes it....

I wanted to perform a completely independent test specifically on it's nitrate removal..

There are hundreds of filters out there that do ammonia to nitrite them then nitrite to nitrate.... The OF claims to be able to remove nitrates.

From doing some research into this, the mystery media generates OH- radicals and if memory serves me correctly are insanely reactive and these effectively steal hydrogen from NH3 and NH4+ to give off H20 and N2.

I'm happy I understand that, the bit I'm getting stuck on is what exactly it does to NO2- and NO3-

Well can't hurt to buy one and try i guess. It's kinda expensive though. Even though the manufacturers claim that you don't need any other filtration, i plan to run this as an addon to my external filters.
