I have an Oscar named Donut, my wife names all the fish after food items, and he is about 6 inches now. When I first got him at 2 inches he was a peaceful little guy and was an angel with his tank mates. When the time came to upgrade him to a bigger tank with the big boys at around 4-5 inches his switch flipped. The morning after moving him I walked into the basement to find him happily swimming around 90% of the tank with a full grown severum, 2 Electric Blue Acaras, and some silver dollars huddled in the corner. Every time one tried to swim out of the corner he would go at them and herd them back in. So, I quickly had to remove a firemouth, rainbow, and a bunch of mollies out of a 55 gallon for him to go into. Don’t worry this is temporary, I do have a 90-100 gallon planned for him in the near future. Maybe bigger if I can find a good deal. But I digress, unbeknownst to me I missed one of the mollies and it has become his best friend. The only time he even messes with it is feeding time and then he will just push it away from the food until he is done. There have even been times I have come down in the morning and they are both at the glass side by side eagerly anticipating a meal. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. I know this arrangement won’t last but for now they are bffs. Which got me thinking, does anyone else have an odd couple in a tank? It shouldn’t work but yet somehow it does. Hoping to see and hear some really good ones. I did include a pic from tonight right before feeding where they were both waiting on me. IMG_4871.jpeg

I had a betta in a 2 gallon tank on my desk at work the company closed so i took the betta home and dropped it in my 125 with a solo 12in male Gold Barred Midas when i first put him in the Midas rushed to the top to eat him then stopped looked at the betta for about 5 seconds then took off swimming. they lived together for about a month the betta used to actually try and tail slap the Midas and the Midas would do it back it was funny as the Midas would push the little betta half way across the tank and the little betta would swim right back to him and do it again.
One day the betta was gone it looked like someone dropped a bottle of blue glitter in the tank
