Heard the police didn't do enough to keep them apart.
Hello; That has been reported by some. I saw the city police chief trying to explain, but must admit I lost the thread and also do not understand why the opposing groups were allowed to get at each other.
A few things are becoming a bit more clear. One is that much of the media is trying to paint anyone who is in favor of keeping the confederate civil war statues and monuments in place as being racist. I can think of a few reasons to keep the monuments in place that have nothing to do with race. At any rate even if a person has some of these other reasons in mind they are getting backed into a corner.
Another thing this somewhat one sided media bias has fostered is that these southern civil war monuments are becoming targets for mob rule. A mob dragged down a statue in NC.
There is a legal process we can use to deal with these issues. Even if I do not like an action/practice it can be better tolerated if done in a way where I can voice my views.
The TN highway department is going to change the highway that borders my property. I do not see the need to alter it and feel it is fine the way it is. I knew from the start my views were likely to be dismissed but I have been given several opportunities to have my voice heard. I still will not like it when the changes are made and will oppose all politicans who have allowed the changes.
I am not and have never been a member of any group such as the KKK or white supremacist. However they should get a chance to have their say.
Today the governor of TN called for a legislative action to remove some civil war materials from state property. Even if some do not like this, it at least is not a mob action.
