The plastic being added is 8 million tons

So, I'm skeptical that hand-picked pictures of unfortunate sea life exposed to plastic before it disintegrates is representative of what happens in the ocean

The ocean weighs 1.4 quintillion tons

Hello; In a way I find it fascinating that you go to such elaborate comparisons in order to try to diminish the island of plastic garbage which is the size of a state. Eight million tones in how much time?
While I do not think the plastic in the oceans is anywhere near the top of a list of environmental problems, I do think it illustrates an important point. That point being that human activities can have a substantial impact on the environment.

Hello; Here is something to consider. We aquarium keepers are likely well aware of how much water weighs. But even as dense as water is 1.4 quintillion tons of it is a lot of water. The fact that many pictures of animals trapped or killed by being caught in plastic do exist suggests that likely are a lot of such incidents must be happening that are never see or recorded. I suppose it is remotely possible that all such incidents have been recorded in the photos that do exist, but I do not think so.

My apologies. This is both wrong and obnoxious. This isn't referring to anything that has to do with this thread. Just me spouting jargon.

Not obnoxious. It's the truth

Incredible police bodycam footage of a police chase in Las Vegas is now going viral.....The footage shows police officer driving in pursuit of a fleeing vehicle while firing his service weapon through the windsheild of his patrol car at the vehicle. The fleeing vehicle finally comes to a stop and the officer is seen reloading his handgun as he exits his patrol car to engage the suspect. The officer then continues firing until orher officers arrive.

Um was the suspect even armed?

Yes,in fact they started the shooting during the chase....the officer returned fire.

Ok in that case seems justified, but did the officer even land a hit? I mean multiple clips spent with no hits would be embarrassing and wasteful
I think embarrassing would be if the officer was in an on foot situation and not score a single hit rather than having to contend with what he actually did.Heck, here in this town we've had cases where multiple officers did mag dumps at a suspect and only a few hits were acheived.....at least one of the fleeing vehicle's tires was blown out so some shots did find their target.

Good.

I just saw the video. The suspect driving was hit and killed I believe. I'd never seen a cop shoot through the windshield.
Me neither.....someone please post the embed or link!
