Thats because the criminal types don't care about the laws or rights...and thus the law abiding citizens are at a distinct disadvantage.

as an FYI Australia is a continent not an island.
Islands are either extensions of the oceanic crust (e.g. volcanic islands) or geologically they are part of some continent sitting on continental lithosphere (e.g. Greenland). But for Australia, which sits on its own continental lithosphere and tectonic plate can be considered as a continent.

I honestly did not know that.

Many moons ago when I was in primary school we were taught that Australia was a continent an island and a country..
I guess geography has changed over the last 15-20 years.

geography and geology really do not have allot to do with each other per say. except to say so and so is on this continent.
