Official Off Topic Discussion Thread #1

I would love to know what becomes of the BILLIONS of dollars we give to those countries?
I remember when we invaded Japan in ww2, it was found that the foreign aid that was supposed to go for the needy, was actually hoarded by the government of Japan , I expect a similar situation is happening now

Lol no.

I've been using this alias long before I ever became staff on here. I like ecology, astronomy and paleontology, and I figure naming myself after the Chicxulub bolide touches all three

Interesting stuff. I love the study of ancient civilizations and the questions they raise. Stuff like gobekli tepe amaze me.

Damned FX5 is driving me nuts this morning.I shut it off and broke it down to give it a good cleaning and now that I've reinstalled it on the tank it keeps spewing out large bubbles making gurgling sounds.

Check to make sure the connection points on your intake where the hose slips over the plastic intake stem hasn't been hit and is slightly above waterline. I had that happen once and mine did the same thing. It was sucking air and blowing bubbles.

Did that as well as other checks. It seems it's been doing this the last few times I've broken it down and restarted after cleaning it.

Hmm that's weird. Normally its something like the hose, or just some trapped air that will come out if you give the can a good rock back & forth or just unplug & plug it in a few times to get it out. I would say check that the seal on the lid is fully sealed but if it weren't I'm sure you'd know by water running down.

Yep,I've had it off and on,drained and refilled and checked everything a few times already yet it is still doing the same thing.I had to leave it be for a while as the noise and bubbling was getting to me as well as holding me up from doing other things I need to take care of today.I'll check back on it later.
