Hello; Had a thought. Likely not new or unique. I now see a lot of support for the guy who shot the UHC exec in NY. Begins to fit if the rhetoric of the last few years is considered. That being our punishing inflation is caused by "greedy corporations". I do not buy into that hype as corporations did not suddenly become extra greedy just a few short years ago when inflation bloomed. I lay the inflation on other things. But if some have bought into the greedy corporate types of stories it follows, they will be against a corporate officer
The media here are now referring to him as "the hot assassin", whatever next?
I think big greedy corporations are taking advantage of inflation though. If inflation causes costs to rise by say 5% they will add an extra 2% or so to get a little extra profit and blame it all on inflation. I sell cable for a living and when the copper price goes up our costs do too but the bosses are always pushing for that little bit more margin on top of the copper price increase.
Its also the gap between rich and poor is growing wide and fast. The guy that got shot was on $15 million a year. Obviously he shouldnt be shot down on the street just for being rich and successful but i can see why such things could push someone over the edge.

When a drunk driver kills someone while DUI...it's the fault of the vehicle and the alcohol. When a junkie commits a crime because he needs his next hit...it's the fault of the drugs. When a career criminal who is ""known to police" gets arrested for the umpteenth time...well, he/she is disadvantaged and has been failed by society. When a company makes money for its shareholders...well, there must be some nefarious secret behind the profit, but of course if the company fails to make money (or enough money...) for its shareholders then It is secretly screwing them somehow. People are shot by guns that load/aim/fire themselves; they are stabbed by knives that leap into action of their own volition.
Cynical a-holes who cannot quite grasp these self-evident truths, and instead naively believe that people are selfish, greedy, stupid beings who reap what they sow and deserve what they get...well, they're the absolute worst. If you squint a bit and hold your mouth just right, you can usually find a way to pin the blame for anything bad that happens on them! I mean, come on...anybody who believes in quaint and antiquated ideas like personal responsibility and accountability, and who never wails about how life "isn't fair"...well, you just know they're up to no good and can't be trusted!

Hello; I do not completely buy into this scenario. In a capitalistic economy run fairly the company that gouges an extra 2% will be at a disadvantage as some other company can sell the same product for 2% less. Of course, they can try to blame inflation or contend their product is 2% better and hope consumers do not catch on. After all I know folks, whose cars are made to run on 87 octane who will pay extra for 91 octane gasoline. In my area the price difference is 70 cents per gallon currently.
However my point was also about the timing of the rhetoric just a year or three ago. We were supposed to believe back in 2021 that corporations suddenly became extra greedy and that caused the new inflation which ballooned at the time. Believe what you wish but I contend corporations did not fundamentally change at that time. My contention being corporations were no more or less greedy in 2018, 2019, 2020 that they were in 2021 or 2022.
