Has always had non-fish avatar.
Hello; If you refer to me such is almost true. Before the rule change about avatars I eventually did use a non-fish avatar as did a large number of others. Such was common on here. I do not have a notion of the percentage of non-fish avatars. When the "new rules" were installed a few years ago I switched to a male betta avatar. I can understand how you did not see it since a mod removed it on his own very quickly as i explained yesterday. An action I felt was not fair but the action stood.
I was more bothered by other consequences of that time. One stands out in my mind. A member of that time I knew of as POPS had a nice avatar of his parrots. He had to take that down. I lobbied for him to be able to keep such a nice avatar at the time, but did not prevail.

One end result from that time has been a number of folks abandoning this forum. Since that time, I do not often attach a personal avatar. Mostly let the site computer assign the ugly blue circle with an S in it. I suppose that male betta image would be allowed to stay today but I do not use it except for brief periods.

So I noticed that my name shows above the post on the cell phone, and the arrow therefore is pointing in the correct direction, being up. (This changes if you rotate the phone.)

However, on the Linux box running chrome, the names are on the left side and my arrow is then pointing in the wrong direction.

I don't give a crap which way the arrow points; if the rules say the avatar must be a fish, then that's that. A snail is not a fish. Either change it to a fish, or just move on down the road.

Of all the nerve...trying to pass off a snail as a fish...the very idea! There should be 🖕special and very harsh penalties for violating such a simple and basic rule. Anybody who tries to pass of a non-fish avatar should be...oh, wait...

...never mind...
