Oh Deer!

I used to see a few groundhogs wandering around early in the mornings,they would even come up onto porches and snoop around.I haven't seen any in quite some time as it is a lot noisier around here now due to the different people who have moved into the area.I did see a pretty big possum in my driveway the other night though.
a few yrs ago I was walking a bike trail in my town, it runs along the Assabet River, there is a beaver lodge maybe 20 feet from the trail in the river. On top a fawn was sleeping. i wonder if the mother stashed the baby there to keep it safe.
I have a pic somewhere on my phone. I love seeing wildlife, theres also a heard of about 14 that make their way through my neighborhood to the national wildlife refuge thats at the end of said bike trail

Yes to both - don’t want to say where and ruin the fun for anyone else.
Yes the mother will return to get the fawn. Sometimes the fawn isn't always lucky. I believe a pack of coyotes killed a fawn on my property. I buried the remains.
