Oldest Corydoras?

RIP Freddie George 2006-2018
Freddie George -quite possibly the worlds oldest corydoras has passed away peacefully today at 10:30. He was a peaceful fish that loved wardley's shrimp pellets and zucchini but didn't mind sharing it with friends. He is survived by his wife Darla and will be missed by all.
We had just finished watching "Finding Nemo" with Felix when we came across an albino corydoras catfish with a gimpy fin. I figured Felix would want to name it Nemo but he did not. I'm not sure where the name Freddy George came from but he was a really cool weirdo that we enjoyed for over a decade.

Sorry for your loss . Great he lived that long I had a couple myself that surpassed their estimated life span.

I had 3 different cories that lived from 1991-2011. The original school was about 6, 2 bronze C. aenus, 1 julii, 2 albino C aenus, 1 brochis splenden in 1991. The julii didn't make it past month 4, cycling 10g and all. I'm pretty sure 1 bronze and 1 albino lived close to 15 years. The other bronze lived 20 years, while the B. splenden was 17, and the other albino 18 years. They started out and cycled a 10 gallon for the 1st year, moved to a 20g, then a 35g, around 1998 put into a 60g, and finally ended up in a 110g from 2005-2011. The last bronze was blind for about 2 years.

If you dig around planetcatfish, you will find other folks who have had first had experience with shoals of cories that were taken care of way better than mine, and hit 20 years with no signs of slowing down.

Sorry for the loss. 12 years is pretty good. I had cories once, they lived for about 3.
