That takes guts... and i agree, next step, red back or silver back from Australia... or if you really have a lot of kahunas you could go for a Sydney Funnel Web spider with their 2" fangs that can penetrate leather boots :nilly:

Wow! My wife just opened a tightly taped box that was returned from Sydney, AU today. She took the returned part out to check it and a spider scurried out from the box from AU! She nailed it with a shoe (she is scared of spiders), but since the box was taped up so tightly, she figured it came over from AU so she had me look it up online. It was some type of Sun spider, she said it looked like the one in this photo I found.

You should, even if it isn't a tarantula they are not any different in care basis. Feed them once a week a fly, cricket, or other spiders and ect. Spray/mist them once a week and make sure you provide the appropriate size tank/container and your good to go.
Yeah, the ones that I see are always on the move, they don't stay at a web.I think they are called jumping spiders.

Any big Black Widows? How big do they get? Once while stranded on the side of the freeway, I sat on a barricade looked down, and right next to my leg was a black widow the size of a golfball!! I'd like to grow one for size, any suggestions?

dude next time your in vegas, feel free to catch all the black widows and brown recluses in my backyard!

Sure lol. Though, I haven't found any brown recluses yet, where do you find them? Back in Colorado we never have recluses, the only venomous spiders we have are black widows.

Jeez dude a golf ball?...A bite from a black widow that size would probably mess you up really badly. You were really lucky.
