Where do you get your fish? Donated ba yan or bought? Im a cichla keeper myself but i also have a 30 inch rtc, 20plus inch pacus and a 3 ft gar in my condos pond. Trained my aro to jump din unfortunately when he did jump in my tank he fell 25 feet to the ground. Hehe

Ouch! Talk about bad falls.

I mainly get fish that have outgrown their current tanks/ponds. Most have been "sold" to me at give away prices. In exchange, I pick up the fish and take good care of them, I guess some owners still put value to that.

My biggest aro was rescued from a place that was flooded in Pasig during the Ondoy days. The rescue story is somewhere in the thread pages. They were two, the other one jumped out but this one is still going strong, it is so incredibly thick, I can't describe it. Boss talaga ang dating.


Am trying to figure out how your condo can have a pond that can house a 3' Gar and some RTCs and Pacus, that's a nice condo with space!

and i saw also your aro saves in ondoy! great job bro wish i thought of that!
yeah i love my condo, it has a big ass 2 sided glass tank in the lobby.. ten feet by 2.5 feet by 5 feet. and then on the lower ground level, two big ponds with close to a hundred malawi cichlids multiplying like rabbits, a group of tilapias, and those gars rtc and pacus.. the big guys were all donated by unit owners and the gar actually was donated by the aircon repair man. said he has a gar that was kept in a chest type freezer for 2 years (not running, of course) imagine not being able to even turn around for two years.. talk about confined spaces. there were 2 rtc's and one 3 feet silver aro as well before but unfortunately one rtc and the aro died.. anyway the ponds are somewhat neglected but soon i will have to make a diy filter for the ponds. i have actually made already a filter consisting of two big water barrels, the blue ones but have yet installed them. maybe you wanna help out sometime hehe
anyway the condo is called garden island. its along gilmore. i can take photos of the ponds if you request for it:) if you wanna see the tank check out my thread. its not as elaborate as yours ha. hehe.

They have these pools on sale at Wal-Mart ny me for 19.99 :eek:end of season blowout. I want to follow your lead but my wife would kill me......if I could incorporate a viewing window somehow I would take the risk of her wrath. I like the new liner, the lighter color definitely looks better.
