I don't think they usually get above 14" in the aquarium. The scientific name is Hepsetus Odoe if you want to try and do some research. This guy is in prime condition. I see some decent sized ones at LFSs sometimes, but they are always a lot skinnier than this beast. He has never been on feeders since I got him at 4 inches. He eats frozen shrimp and silversides. He is not skittish like a lot of characins.
man if I had the $100.00 I think I would pounce on this guy. Unfortunately the wife's car spun a rod bearing last week so I have to pass..... dang it.....
