Hi guys, my lfs got orange pike cichlids for sale and I was wondering if they could live in a 75 gallon I do weekly water changes and I have 2 125 gallon sponge filters.
There are roughly 100 species in Crenicichla and Teleocichla. Do you have a species name? If it’s in the Lugubris group you’d want at least a 125(6ft footprint).

As adults these get 12" to 15'", so a 75 will be quite wimpy once grown.
Maybe if you keep it alone, and do every other day 50% water changes with low pH, low mineral, content tannin infused water (pH between 5 and 6).
