I actually live about and hour west of Chicago in Lake in the Hills. I'm traveling for work in Minneapolis this week and was bored so I checked out a bunch of the fish stores. The store that had these had them for about 2 months and none of their customers had a tank large enough for them. This is the store: http://www.worldoffish.com/ they have a huge selection of fresh water fish. I'm driving back to Minneapolis again next week and I'm bringing them back with me. I hope they will be ok on the 5 hour drive home. They were originality in a 75 gallon tank, they are going to love being in my 400 gallon.

They shouldnt have any problems with the five hour drive.

you guys are definitely overpaying for your ornates compared to the prices I see. i've 10-12 inch WC ornates for 40 bucks each in the LPS. There was a bunch.
There are large ornates regularly sold at kijiji for 40-80 dollars. Guess it depends on location.

Not sure where you are seeing these prices. But any poly's i see are 40 bucks for about 4 inchers, this includes palmas palmas, ornate, dehelzi lapradei and teugelsi. Never seen any better prices. Was at big als scarboro and they wanted 56.00 for dehelzi around 5 inches.

I have been looking for some large ornates to go in my new 400 gallon tank with my silver aro's.

The LFS has two that are about 12-14 inches longs. They are asking $120 apiece! I really like them but i think it is ridiculous to pay $240 for the two of them.

What is the typical price for some ornates around that size?

One of the ornates in question:

sold mine for 20 euros... Was a big monster and no-one had a good tank.(where i live atleast) So after a year for sale it just went down to 20euros... Sad for me but the fish has a big enough home.

In the uk 4-5 inch juveniles going for between £50-£57 just purchase one for £57 plus shipping prices for all fish havee gone up have been told covid is one of the reasons .
