C Coryloach Hey thank you for your kind words! Everytime I buy fish from that shop I always think of it as a "rescue". Their fish section quality is the same as most Walmarts. I wouldn't buy from them but the good fish stores are too far away from me and I unfortunately can't justify driving 2-3 hours to a city to buy fish.

And yes I agree! I will definitely keep up the water quality to make sure he is in top shape before he makes the big move. In fact he is getting a big waterchange.. right now! xP

Thank you again to everyone who replied. It means a lot to me!

Welcome to MFK!

I have never kept oscars but would recommend feeding less food just to reduce waste and growth rate a little then you can go crazy with a bigger tank. We don't want him outgrowing that one

I would recommend a 100, 75 is good but a little tight on the footprint. I think a 100 gal is 5 feet long if my memory serves me well. A bit more space than a 4ft 75.

Best of luck :)

100g, but is really 95g, is same foot print as a 75 but a tall, I have had a few, the benie of it is more water volume and more up and down for the fish. all my Oscars used every inch of up and down, I pesonaly do not like 75g because they shallow. I prefer tall tanks, 95g tall. 145.tall. 180 tall. is the way to go for me, like that wall of water and fish got more than back and forth. esp a bigger fish like an oscar.

As big as you can afford or accommodate of course but I just mean an oscar will live perfectly well in a well maintained 75g
