Lol, having both an O and BPs they are all interesting. All four of my BPs have totally different personalities which makes things fun. ONE will let me pet him. They all greet me. My Oscar is a sweetheart, a drama queen, adorable and a bully all at the same time! Gets his head pats and body tickles and plays with a small basketball. Wakes up cranky and throws his weight around at times. He's just over a year old.
The one thing I know about them all is that they have amazing behaviors. The BPs are clever and tactical, they do stuff with a purpose. For example:
My female parrot Patch started laying eggs on the jumbo airstone to aerate them. Less work for her, less fanning. She will also stand on her head and float, or sleep in vines at the surface. Just goofing around.
My male parrot Boss will block access points to his areas with plants and rocks. This is to keep the catfishes out.
My male parrot Tango got annoyed with one of the catfish and pushed him behind a filter, blocking him in with stones. Does barrel rolls sometimes.
My male parrot Kong is hyper aggressive but will see 'monsters' if you wear certain types of clothing. Yesterday after getting home from work I had to remove my hat, coat and scarf because he refused to come out and eat until I did. Silliest fish evah.
When my Oscar wants a petting session he chases the other fish away and comes back to me. 100% rotten.
Key thing to remember is the more you're around the fish the better handle you have on their personality. If you don't interact with them at all you won't get anything back. Sometimes I think people expect a fish to just 'respond' when they do nothing more than feed and leave the room.
