I've uploaded two images of my oscar one with the dots(ich) highlighted. how long would it take to recover at this stage? the other one got three small spots on its belly. should i add salt daily? can i feed my oscar during treatment? its hungry always. currently i feed it three times a day for three minutes each time with few shrimps and pellets.

Ich usually begins with just a few, and at that point it often goes unnoticed, then can become epidemic.
a few examples for reference.
Below a light case, kind of beginning stage.

and now a serious infection, all the fish in the photos above and below survived after treatment with salt and a malachite green product (in this case Nox-Ich).

I believe the methylene blue is more toxic to your beneficial bacteria than the green.
All treatments are basically liquid metal salts, and dyes that enter the cell(s), cause the infectious parasite, and any other bacteria they come in contact with implode (lyse( ie lysol))
Some such as salt (NaCl) or eosom salts are almost non toxic to most higher organisms in moderation, some are more toxic to simpler organisms in varying degrees, such as methylene blue.

Meth blue will damage BB, Malachite Green not so much. I always recommend using Blue in a hospital tank or in a container as a bath not as a main tank treatment. If you are going to treat the whole tank Malachite Green is the safer choice for scaled fish such as cichlids. It is more toxic to scaleless fish and catfish where Methylene Blue in a bath or hospital tank set up would be a better choice. Neither is good or bad it's knowing when, where and how to use them that makes the difference and effects the final outcome.

All the white spots In the fish has disappeared. I changed them to another tank. I cleaned the tank they were in and bought my arowana last night. should I still keep the temp up and do the daily water changes while adding salt. my arowana moves for a while and then stays still for a while. is that normal? once again thankyou for the support given to cure the ich in my Oscars.

I removed the water, cleaned it with some boiling water and then refilled the tank. Is that sufficient?
