My pacman Boulder just started eating again after being on a hunger strike for almost two months:headbang2. I was never really worried about him though since during the whole time he just burrowed down and never lost any weight.

Here's two pix of one of my friend's new baby pacman

awesome pac man!

I have "force fed" mine. He kept it down but I don't like the "stress" around forced feedings..

how can you NOT want a pixie? :D
Here's my li'l guy

Just don't get the dwarf pixies, cause they are dwarfs ;).

Brazilian horned frogs are the largest horned frog(think 10" dinner plate size), but aren't available. Ornate females are the largest(6-7" for females) and are the most colorful of what's available, but have the smallest horns. Cornuta have the largest horns, but are the smallest.

The reason horned frogs stop eating, is they estivate. If they stop eating, cool them down and let their cage dry out(not completely of course). A few weeks to a month, warm them back up. If you have a male, you'll get to hear their LOUD call when you "wake them up".

Horned frog habitats also require frequent cleaning(atleast once a week). Large frogs in small cages(I wouldn't use anything smaller then a 20 long for adults) mean urine builds up very quickly. Horned frogs are very sensitive to their own urine(probably the #1 cause of death). They will also do alot better/live longer if you don't feed them red meat(mice, rats, etc.). Roaches and crickets are best. Poulty is ok. Inbreeding is also a problem.

Petcos in Washington can get pyxies, but they tend to be the dwarfs :(.

I used to breed horned frogs in massive quanities(23 breeder adults, ornates and chacoans, and tens of thousands of babies a year).

I've only owned one pixie, and it ended up being a dwarf.

I'm going to be getting a pacman, they only need a 10-20 gallon fully grown!!

I'm going to try a planted terraruim for mine though.

Pacmans eat crix and pinkies and goldfish when they're little, and a full grown female can eat a rat!!
there is no way a 10 inch frog can live in a ten gallon tank. maybe a custon 20 gallon, but definately not a 10. a male could probably live in it, but still, a 10 gallon tank is very small.

I have a question on this frogs:confused: Ive keept a lot of temperate climate amphibs but never a tropical one. What is the best heating device for this guys? Heating pad? Ceramic lamp? Just out of curiosity, my turts and igs monopolize most of my time:D
