o man that stinks... wonder what happened

wow Matt, im sorry to hear he isnt getting better. it sounds like he isnt going to make it, i am just perplexed as to what happened to him and would have no idea how to help him. i guess when he starts to not eat id euthanize him-its a bummer.

I had a BD with the same issues, he was so aggressive that whenever someone would walk past the tank he would ram the glass. Until the last time he did it he kocked himself out and went bell up for a muinte or so. when he woke back up his head and face were bruised and he couldnt swim, much like you described. I also did the same test, tried to pull him out of the water and check him out. but he was totally limp. he still ate but only lasted another month or so. I feel your pain, hope iot works out.

Well, the poor fella went belly up yesterday while i was at work. He was still eating and swimming around using his front fins last night when I put them to bed, but after work I went down to feed all my fish and he was belly up on the bottom.

Now I guess Im in the market for a new male flower horn.

Hello, I'm new here and I was wondering about my fish named Dotty. She is a Red Eye Puffer and a couple days ago we found her upside-in our Java moss. She was still breathing and moving her pectoral fins, but hardly her tail. We placed her in a medical tank to make sure she would not be bothered by the other fish. Dotty has been trying really hard to eat and move around but she has so far been unable to.

We don't know what happened but we think it may be the something as a paralyzed fish. Our other two male Puffers, Junior and Buddy, are always going up to the tank wall to see if shes OK. We're really hoping that our sweet little Dotty is going to make it but we don't think she will. All of our puffers are young. We do think that she may have hit the wall while trying to swim away from Buddy.

We were wonder if there was anything we could do for her and if she may have a chance.
Thank You in advance!

i've never seen that before, let me know whats wrong =/ if you figure it out...normally when a fish goes upside, they're pretty much gonners, why don't u try running and output of the water and try to get some oxygen in her gills?? thats how some people around here revive fish sometimes

Actually Dotty has been going at all angles it seems like, but we are going to try to put a bubbler in. Shes still breathing and trying to move around. We haven't really seen her move around but we know that she is because every time we place her in the Java moss and go away for a few hours, we find her sitting on top of one of the hole we drilled in the bottom to make sure there is good water circulation. I just tried taking her out of the water to see if she would flop around and kind of did! When Dotty sank back down she was trying really hard not to touch the bottom by moving her pectoral fins like crazy! Maybe she just sick? When we put the bubbler in we'll let you know if there is a difference.
Thank you!

I'm sorry to say that Dotty pasted away last night. We`re not sure if its because we didn't get the bubbler up in time or what, but we are all saddened by the loss. We`re not 100% sure about what it was because she was like that for about four or five days. Junior and Buddy don`t seem to be getting along as well now.
