Wow that last Thorichthys is really something!Thorichthys maculipinnis. The one turned out to be an 8” beast. Bought at a LFS and think was probably a hybrid. Was really aggressive too. Had more pics but photobucket blocked me out of my account, so lost a lot of pics in general.

Thanks, whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t thorichthys aureus which it was what I bought it as. It was thick too, which most thorichthys species are thinner. It went back to the same lfs a long time ago because of its aggression.Wow that last Thorichthys is really something!
Yeah it looks like a big meeki but at the same time not 100% so I wasn't going to say a specific species. What beauty and a beast though. Thanks, whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t thorichthys aureus which it was what I bought it as. It was thick too, which most thorichthys species are thinner. Think it definitely had t. Mac in it. Primarily looks like it to me, especially the placement of the colors. For example the red doesn’t extend to the jaws and not on the face. And meeki have a different mouth, this didn’t have a protruding lower jaw. Perhaps it was just a weird mutation of t. Mac? Will always be a mystery. The other t. Macs were from the same LFS. They look quite different.Yeah it looks like a big meeki but at the same time not 100% so I wasn't going to say a specific species. What beauty and a beast though.
