Hi Guys,

P1120793_VampireFish3a.JPG
Is this my Payara from armatus species or Tat or Scomb? (Just wonder)

I got a 5inch Vampire Fish Armatus species(In the words of my friend) from my friend & I put the fish into my 3ft tank (190L). Everything is fine & alright but the only issue is the fish's fangs just left 1. Do not know how it is happen.

My question is, does the fangs will be growth again?

Thanks

Scomb

Scomb.

The teeth will grow back. The occasional tooth shed is normal and healthy.

The tooth grows in an insane speed. When this happened to me: morning no tooth...in the night full grown tooth. Seems absurd but it's true.

By the time the original tooth falls out, the new tooth is already fully grown and waiting. Once the original is shed, all the new tooth has to do is fold up into the slot.

Yes Chicx, you are right! But even so it's impressive how fast it raised to take a place in her mouth!

Hi Bam. I wasn't clear (sorry my english skills aren't very good).

My payara lost her tooth and stay toothless for a week or more! I was looking every day and nothing! Until a day in morning I was observing her (absolutely toothless)...but when I look again in the night the fang was completly growed! My payara don't replace the fang so fast but when the tooth arises it arises realy fast!

Can you provide us a good picture of the right fang? That fang didn't seems to be in right position, which could means that this one will be substituted too!
