only 5 types of peacock bass in the known world
Cichla temensis (speckled peacock bass but three-barred peacock bass while spawning) you have this one
Cichla ocellaris (butterfly peacock bass) comon p-bass. thinker and bigger built body then other p-bass
Cichla intermedia (royal peacock bass) the p-bass that you go fishing for most aggressive p-bass.
Cichla orinocensis (no English name) rarest p-bass ever.
Cichla monoculus (no English name)

atleast i think i looks like a Cichla temensis but it does have the broad body of a Cichla ocellaris mabey a cross breed i doubt it though but if it is your very lucky.
very little is know about fish cross breeding but it is possible becuase there closley related to the ocellaris

If anyone can show me an occelaris with spangling I will believe it, however I do have some experience with pbass and have never had one with what this one displays. Quite frankly I thought right off the bat that this was a hybrid of Occelaris and temensis.... not sure why but it looked a bit out of the ordinary, but know that this is not normal.

Thats not true and the ornio isnt the rarest ever its the fogo.

I don't claim to be an expert but the tems that I have seen in the past all have a fairly small dull gold pattern. I have seen Orino though with bright gold spots on them of about the same size. Just from looking at the coloration of these spots I would guess that the spots are a brighter gold and Orino. Either way a good looking fish glad to sea that he is pigging out

Let me be the first to quote and to welcome you to this forum. I personally would like you to frequent the cichla/peacock bass section. Looks like you have a great deal of knowledge on keeping pbass.

So, I hope to see you soon. And welcome to the site bro.
