Pet genet

Could anyone who has had experience with genets tell me how good of a pet they make and tell me what it takes to own one? im really interested in one day having one of these amazing animals so any information would be appreciated. thanks

I do not own one, but I have heard that they are very similar to house cats as far as companion animals go. They can be trained fairly easily to use a litterbox and will accept any form of cat food. Viverrids in general are fairly cat-like, so I'd assume that they shouldn't be much more work than a typical house cat. I have heard that they are not as "cuddly" however, they do like being held or restrained as much.

just read up about them cuz i had no idea what they were. seem like a cool ass animal but the whole "heavy musk" to mark territory would have me weary.

well im pretty sure they have the odor sacs removed, like what they do for pet skunks. so no one here had/has one or knows someone who does? i know the general stuff about them but i got no experience with them
