I have 4. The biggest is over a foot, the 2 smaller 8-9 inches. They were housed with a 5-6 in Pink Tailed Chelceus for months without even a torn fin. Ide say it depends on the individual fish too but after having 4 without a single issue? Maybe cause they aren't cramped?

maybe cause they were raised with other fish from the beginning?

I guess we'll find out soon.... I'll be cramming them in a 300. If they continue to co-hab with no issues it was thier upbringing. IF they get that killer instinct then it was the room.

Have to LOVE Characin experiments!!!!!! Can't wait till the Dorado get older.

IME,aggressive characins work better with each other in crowded tanks.

So, at the size of the Boulengerella Characins, what fish should I not keep with them to avoid losing some Pike Cs?
nothing aggressive and nothing that can eat them...

How big do the two Boulengerella Pike Cs get? Reason I ask is because when I found out about them in "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Aquarium Fish by Gina Sandford", the sizes mentioned were 16 inches for the lateristriga and 14 inches for the maculata.

Any confirmation on full-grown captive size would help.
