Tank looks nice. Seems that your's actually grows slower than the one I had. :) I need to do some searching to see if there is growth studies on wild populations.

It seems there are studies that suggest that filamentosum can reach 30" in just six months. I have not found the exact study yet, but it is quoted in a few places. Either there is something missing from what we are doing as keepers or something is off with this study. I haven't heard of anyone having one and it growing more than .5 to 1" a month in the first year.

There's some shots after a big meal I would say about 4-6 oz of tilapia. I do plan on a bigger tank. The bigger tank I plan on is actually a public aquarium here in Chicago. Hopefully they will take my generous donation of such a rare catfish. I would love for them to house this fish for life so 20-30 years from now I will still be able to go see the fish and show my kids the monster that daddy raised from only 2"
