excellent. keep a close eye on it before you make your 100% assumptions. Last week I had 0ppm but still did a 65% because i didnt beleive it haha. Just in my personal opinion if you get the same readings week after week for a month or so I would say its safe to assume! I would still add more plants haha.
Got any pics of the current setup?
Where do u people find these dang peace lillies. I have looked ALLL over. I picked up a caca lilly or w.e maybe its the same thing. Havent put it in water yet, been sitting in the planter I bought it in. Maybe it will work.
I've purchased all my plants from walmart. Right now because it's winter here they're all on sale, I was paying $12 for a small plant now it's $6 for one WAY to big to fit in any HOB. I like pothos but they weren't doing to much for me, it took mine like 3 weeks just to start growing their water roots, this nephthytis had water roots in 3 days, and have been growing like crazy, I never really saw results like this until I added them to my tank just a couple weeks ago.
I'm testing the water again today to see where it stands but here are some pics of the 220 I have a 135 blocking the tank on the right side so I can't get a fts.

Excuse the terrible paint on the walls, hahaha! I found a great deal on this house and I'm in the process of fixing it up and refinishing EVERYTHING. Just finished both kitchens and this room will be the last to get finished because of the tanks in the way, lol.

foreclosed house?

Ya pothos for me have never really taken off. Snapping turtles tank it does pretty good, does ok on my g/f's 55. But on my tank I am lucky to get 1 leaf a month. It makes me wonder WHICH kind of pothos. Snappers tank they are green leafs, my tank green and yellow. To me the green leafs seem to respond alot better.

I love my arrow heads though, they dont stop. IM testing out wandering jew right now. I said it above on previous pages somewhere I pinched off a piece from homedepot took it home and stuck it in. Its growing, so I am hoping it will establish soon and go nuts. I dont think my hosta is gonna do anything, maybe it needs more light.....

Yeah 3000+ sqft, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, full basement, full attic, detached garage with studio apt above it for $13k..... Best check I ever wrote. I might try wandering jew, my pothos is green, I have another marbled one... they just don't do the trick...

wow 13k, you lucky sob!

I believe today I am gonna make my plant holder bigger. I am thinking 15"x 5.5'. Its not gonna be what I had visioned but its getting colder outside and paint wont cure in this weather and I dont think painting inside is good for a 6 month old. But it will be less cramped than the one I got now.

Ya got bored and built a bigger container. I think doing this gave me a idea of what I am actually going for look wise. Still ghetto, but I never finish anything unless its permanent. I need another house for that, or a bigger room haha.

The hosta. I was gonna trash it until I pulled it up and saw that is had a pretty good root system developed, so I shall wait and see

Arrowhead, the best thing to be in there.

Just put in the elephant ear and calla lilly (not caca as i said previously) I also have maybe tiger lilly from ur average garden and a fern. The tiger lilly actually started growing water roots over night, kinda strange. I took the baby fern from the ground it had to "leaves". Both those died but I have a shoot comming out straight in the middle so here is hoping that thing takes off too. U can also see my little bit on wandering jew, its root system is poor right now.

Full shot. ya I know its cloudy I didnt 100% wash the lava rock haha.

What?

But ya what I think I am going to be shooting for is something that looks more natural. Be it just lava rock, or eventually on a final setup whenever that happens in my life maybe pea gravel on top of lava rock to give it that appearance of land and not being in water, or "dry" on top.

Ill probably trash the spider plants, they dont grow enough to my liking and are not that great appearance wise.

I have the riparium planting my 56 going going pretty good right now. There are actually quite a few fish in there, but most of them are a group of P. buffei catfish that just hide in the back most of the time. I am thinking of switching them out and getting a group of Congo tetras instead.

that looks awesome!

well im at I think 15ppm for nitrates this week. hard to tell since I lost the card and compare to google. Ill admit I kinda feed them good this week haha. Gonna do a 65-70ish% w/c and re check next week. 15pmm aint bad when you got a 13" pleco, 13" goldfish and a 15"+ butterfly koi as ur big 3 :)

I've read through this thread and have a couple of questions for you guys. I some japanese persimmons tree seed that I've been keeping in the frig to get through there dorment stage, to grow as a bonsai tree. My plan is to use a plastic shower suction cup bin to fill with a substrate and plant in it. I plan on using a philips flood light and clip on hanger for growth, but not sure if this is enough lighting. Any thoughts on this, will it work, will i need different lighting, does it need to be out of water completely? I've read on these trees and info has stated that drainage isnt a top priority, So I'm assuming this will grow if I can get the seeds started.

second, I was planning on planting a grass around the seed. I would imagine grass to work extremely well for removal of nutrients. As it grows like crazy and easy to grow. Any thoughts on this? I've also thought about using a aqualifter with the return into the basket to allow a watering and drainage effect. I also have two power heads I could use...

Its a turtle take with platies and a red tail shark and 2 clown plecos.... so waste is deff not a problem. ANY INFO YOU HAVE WOULD BE AWESOME

I'm currently growing Nephthytis, Pothos and Philodendron in my 220 and all are doing great. I have the Pothos and Philodendron mixed together growing down the corners and 3 Nephthytis growing up from the back of the tank secured by suction cup type plastic sponge holders I bought at the grocery store. I've not been able to upload photos since the last time the site went down, I'd like to post some pics if they strightened it out.

I tried growing an avocado root in my tank, as it used to be common to germinate them by putting toothpicks in the seed, and stick it over a cup. I had no luck, and I tried multiple avocado seeds. Not sure if bonsai tree would work out.
