Platinum alligator gar

Hello everyone here's my pet alligator gar
I got him in December and he was about 6-7 inches that time but with the time being it grew rapidly fast and he's 19-20 inches in April
Is it normal for gars to grow this fast?
Because it's my first time keeping one

They have the potential to hit 48” in the first year. Most dont… sounds like u must be feeding it well so nice work . It looks nice and plump, great color also. Id just keep doing what ur doing.

Beautiful gar. Looks like he’s longer than the tank is wide already! Plans for an upgrade soon? Lol

Yes I feed him well with pellets,live feed and chicken liver so he's doing well and fit

Haha yeah I actually do have a 150 gallon aquarium already set up with my 18" silver arowana and 15" albino giant gourami actually this gar was with them but I had a bunch of BP,red spotted severums and a green terror as well which the gar would obviously try to eat haha so I moved him to a 200 gallon pond I moved him in this tank just to click a few pictures of him haha
