WOW. That is a gorgeous fish. Looks like a chinese dragon with those mouth barbels. If only I was in a situation where I could justify spending $180 on a fish . . .

I got a leaflet last May about those gold and platinum butterfly koi being a big craze in UK, US, Japan and Australia.

Lovely fish but I can't accommodate them.

The thought of using my tank as a small koi tank actually crossed my mind. It just didn't stick...

Thats a lot of money for one. I dunno the butterflies are cool, but i prefer the "normal" finned ones. People used to be nicking koi all the time, they used to be worth loads, but not so much of a problem anymore. It was during the koi craze

I haven't seen my 10 inch platinum koi in about a week and a half. I saw a hawk overhead this morning though I have a small school of three inchers that are still there. Not much meat on them I guess.
