so I am planning on building 6x3x2 plywood aquarium only problem is the glass the only thing that can really get is a 190cm by 70cm 8mm tempered but I am not sure if it is strong enough for the size of tank I want any advice would be appreciated
For a 2 foot tall I don't think 8mm is this enough, I would says half inch at leastso I am planning on building 6x3x2 plywood aquarium only problem is the glass the only thing that can really get is a 190cm by 70cm 8mm tempered but I am not sure if it is strong enough for the size of tank I want any advice would be appreciated
I was hoping with it being tampered i can get away with it because it's 4 times stronger than regular glass or does that not matterFor a 2 foot tall I don't think 8mm is this enough, I would says half inch at least
The problem is the sheets come in a set size I don't get to choose size it's is 800mm Wade and 1900mm Long am going to do a 50mm lip for the glass so there will be a viewing window of roughly 700mmI would stick with the 6x3x2. You (and your fish)will greatly appreciate the extra width and shorter height, I promise
Is 10mm strong enoughWell, if the glass panel size is dictating the height then why not go 6x3x3?
I wondered with it being tempered glass which is four times stronger than Regular glass will that not make up for thickness differenceIt's the height that determines glass thickness. 36" height shows 12mm thickness in the calculators.
