Great looking tank. In eight years I'll start mine. LOL Keep up the good work.

Cheers :)

But don't wait as long as I did.

OK bit of an update for you all, I have my glass arriving this Friday arvo, so I will fit glass this Saturday and post some pics.....

I got my glass delivered on Friday, not as heavy as expected should take 3 people to lift into tank.

Now I just need to dismantle my 6 footer and get 6 people to come over and help move the plywood/timber tank into place and then fit the glass.

Hopefully I can get this to happen next weekend.

wats the size of the panel and wats the thickness of glass

Glass Panel is 2740mm x 685mm x 15mm thick. :)

assuming your an adult of average build 2 people could lift that. ummm i forsee a problem is that with that sizea panel it would be hard to lift into the tank. so as long as the tank sits off the ground and is only 2.5ft high and not 2.5+ stand then it would be easy. trust me though invest in rubber gloves there cheap and will save cut hands and broken glass. plus give u super frixion which means u dont need your hand under the peice to move it round just if u need to lift the panel higher then 3ft then get some helping hands and pass it over. just my 5cents

Yep 2 people can lift, two of us got it off the truck when it arrived, the plywood structure is not on the ground and this means that we are looking at a total lift height around 4-5ft.

My other option is to put the tank on the ground install the glass and then lift the complete unit onto the stand which is about 2 1/2 to 3ft off the ground. Two of us can lift one end of the plywood/timber structure so we figure 4 to move. However, I think I would need 6 people to be able to place the tank on the ground and then lift it back up again.

The outside measurements are approx. 3000mm x 1180mm x 863mm

Where abouts in Brisbane are you? Its good to have some home grown people build monster tanks. Unfortuantely, many people on this thread don't know what it takes ($$$) to own huge monster fish. Your selection is fine by me. However, you might want to buy the Red Tail Black Shark fairly large.

I think Ultimate Aquarium has a 5"er.
