Polypterus Enclosures pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's mine. It's a 125.

You can see my albino poking his head out from the bottom of the rock work. (yes it's all glued together, it won't be crashing down)

I love that log in there. I found it sticking out of a bank in a creek. I had to cut it out. It looks like a Star Trek ship or something. It's over 4ft long. It's hard to tell but there are a bunch of cone shaped areas where fish can bunker into. Just too cool.

What tankmates are their.

PEVINE, you have one of the nicest sens!!! I looove the color it has!

JoelR wow what a nice tank any other fish in it and what kind of glue did you use

Thanks.
I used aquarium Silicone to glue the rock work together. I didn't use enough on the bottom piece though. As I was situating it in the tank, one side broke loose. I wasn't about to wait another 3 days to dry so it will have to do for now.

I'll post pics of everyone in there but I do have a bunch of tetras in a quarantine tank waiting to go in there. I'm not taking any chances.
Here they are.

Ornate Polly

Goldy pleco L14

spotted rapheal cat (he thinks he's hiding in one of the cones. LOL)

rope fish

Fatty albino senegalus

and a hard to get a good shot of Blue Panaque

I can't wait for this tank to mature & the plants fill out. Also, this quarantine is killing me. I need some swimmers in there. LOL

nice fish like that ornate pic.:headbang2 Give us an update when he gets bigger.

JoelR, how long have you had that L14 pleco in there? I was wondering how these will get along with the bichirs? I have a L14 too and sometimes it get pretty aggressive during feeding. BTW, I love the albino senegal. The ropefish is a bit freaky for my cup of tea. Ropefish looked exactly like a water snake.

I've actually only had him in there for about a week. I'm keeping an eye on him & have a 55 waiting to get him back, if needed. I have a green phantom who will replace him if that happens. (he's in the 55 now)
