I just got this flowerhorn a week ago and I am wondering whether he would be classed as having pop gut genes or is it from the breeder over feeding. The breeder did stay he power feeds and that's why he has a big gut and it's not pop gut. This is the flowerhorn after about a day of not eating.

Maybe some bloat. Check your water quality and make sure tank is cycled and nitrates below 20ppm. Give it some more time to settle in to the tank. Does it have an appetite? Has it pooped and if so is it white and stringy? If no appetite then add some Epsom salt 3tbsp per g. If stringy white poop then add epsom and feed metronidazole if available.
