This turned up. The snake removal crew promptly picked it up, put it in an old burlap sack and took it away.

But they did not know what type of snake it was. Possibly a pet snake that escaped, and quite possibly not a Thai snake at all.

Any ideas?
 
Homalopsis buccata? Should be native to Thailand if it is indeed that species.
Some of the photos I googled of Homalopsis buccata look exactly like the photo above, others were a darker, slightly different variation.

Certainly does look like it.

According to wikipedia [IRONY]which is always correct[/IRONY],
"H. buccata ranges from northern Sumatra to Salanga Island, Indonesia and Borneo; it is present on the Malaysian peninsula and in extreme southern Thailand (vicinity of Pattani)."

Well this one got all the way t the North of Thailand.
 

Seems Thailand is also home range
