Jig Jig has his party pants on. He is in full breeding dress.
Momma don't much change in looks or color, but Jig Jig looses his vertical stripes for all spots. I just wish my camera could catch his full coloration.
Jig Jig is somewhere around 13 inches now and Momma is about 9 1/2 inches.

They have bred several times, the last time several of the young got up to 1.5 inches before the last few got ate.
I got Jig Jig at 1.5 niches in 2006???
Momma I got at 6.5 to 7 inches a little over a year ago.
As far as the algae, I'm not afraid of a little green in the tank, notice the green all over the glass? Not afraid of that either.

His growing has really slowed down if not come to a stop here in the last year.
I got him at 1.5 inches back in 2006.

dang, growing out cichlids take a long time. 1 year to get from 7 inches to 9.5 inches? :\ here's the female i got, she's one of my favs, after my midas. she's at 7 inches right now and she eats like a beast!
