Here are a few new photos taken this afternoon. It is impossible to get a good measurement when I have an old slow camera, but this will give good reference to his size. Jig Jig is just over 13.5 inches, Momma is over 10 inches.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Thanks, he's about 11-12 inches (tail included).

I picked him up last April and he was pretty small and beaten up and just hid for a long time.

Here are a couple of videos of him and his tank mates.

I have just picked up a used 6ft tank which I am doing up, when this is ready he will go in there and I have to decide on a tankmate or two.

Update on my fella, he now has the 5x20x20 to himself and he seems happy enough, he was getting too aggressive with his tank mates so their new home was just in time!

He seems to be displaying a lot of blue tonight!

How can I fatten him up? I feed him 4-5 large Hikari Gold pellets twice a day (any more and he just leaves them) and a couple of prawns. I can't afford Massivore (£30 here which is a weeks food shopping budget for myself let alone the fish!). What else would be good to beef him up a bit?

Also he has gone quite aggressive now so what are the chances of him accepting a decent sized common plec as a tank mate?

Mine don't bother my pleco unless he goes near the spawning area, however, they also don't seem aggressive against anything.

Beautiful Jag by the way, have you considered a female as a companion?

Breeding is not something I have researched in any detail, and I am enjoying not having to use a divider for the first time in a while!

I wouldn't know what to do with the fry either!

I am going to sell my fry, already have a buyer lined up. The rest are feeders, unless they get gorgeous colors. Most people don't need dividers for Jags, it depends on the aggression of the male and of course the size of the female. You could always breed with a female dovii...

He is stunning... what a beautiful pattern on him and great color.. keep up what ever your doing.. because you are doing it right.

Thanks Red Devil!

Chris, he usually has a lot of blue but it didn't show up on pictures very well but I recently picked up some "daylight" bulbs from Sylvania Luxline Plus. We are installing them around the school where I work and I thought I would try one out on my tank and it is a nice clean light. I just wish he would stay still long enough for me to get the picture I want!

I moved all the other fish out of the tank a couple of months ago and he gets more aggressive with each day to the point of him charging the glass whenever anyone enters his half of the living room now! :screwy:

I like the female Dovi idea but I know if I breed him I will want to keep at least one of the fry and I think I am already pushing my luck with the wood floor in my upstairs flat! :nilly:
