hello iam completly new to rays and i have found the smallest ray, i wanted to know what the smallest tank ONE could go in for life iam setting up a 4by2by2 soon and would this be ok for life for 1? i might be able to get a 5by2by2 but that is not 100% and is pushing it. any info or comments appreciated. i will not get 1 if not given they go ahead from experts.

I would go with the 5ft tank, I have a male scobina and they reach about 14" max so bigger the tank the better. Also 24" width is a minium if can get 30 much much better.

AT LEAST YOUR IN THE RIGHT COUNTRY FOR ACQUIRING ONE OF THEM......, NOT MANY ON THIS SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC.....

I AGREE WITH MIKE ON THE DIMENSIONS A 5' BY 30" WOULD BE GREAT FOR ONE AND MAYBE EVEN TWO OF THEM....., BIGGER IS BETTER.....

ok the 5footer is a possiblity(i have to move alot of furniture) is it the smallest ray i have found one called a teacup ray=potamotrygon laticeps they said on the sites that it will grow 10-12inch. is this true? i dont realy mind what ray is there but i dont want to be forced into a upgrade, i have the money but not the space

just looked at the custom tank(4by2by2) and its only a little bit more for the extra 6inch but still quite wide, i think it would look odd in the room

also they would (if i get 1 ) be with cichlid not anything to aggressive like jd,gt.....simular cichlids but is a red terror or a jag too aggressive?(they would be females)

i WOULD KEEP IT SIMPLE AND ONLY KEEP FISH THAT A RE DEFINETLY NOT GOING TO HARM YOUR INVESTMENT STICK WITH SOME DISCUS OR A AN AROWANA.....

you carnt keep a aro in a 4by2by2 can you? also i dont realy like dicus that much- so jd,gt would be too aggressive i see ray with jags and other big aggressive cichlids.....is this because they have huge rays or luck.. i would say my jd and gt arnt realy that aggressive but as everyone nows that can change. i got confused with the last post ablout the aviabilty on the rays- which ray would be suitable for my tank then and not out grow

a 6x2x2ft i would say is the min tank size

you will be lucky to find a scobina to go in the tank
