Power Head Vibrating Noise

Is it normal for a power head to make vibrating noise when the whole thing is submerged underwater? I bought a new power head(3000l/h flow) for my top filter & it's making low vibrating noise.. It gets irritating especially in the silent night..(my bed is just nearby the tank)
My other power head(2400l/h flow) doesn't make this vibrating noise though.. maybe too low but I'm still unsure if the noise is normal..

Take it back and get a new one. If you can hear it imagine how it sounds to the fish...

If it's touching the side of the tank at all, that may be the cause. If it just makes that noise in general, yes, get a new one.

if youre able to take it apart, check the impeller. could be something stuck inside

I checked.. nothing is stuck.. everything is clean..
I'm still undecided whether or not to change the powerhead..
It is making my tank glass vibrate.. will this weaken the silicone?
I fear that if I buy a new one, it will vibrate too..

I would return it, doesn't sound like its functioning correctly.

New pumps can vibrate for a week or so until the shaft wears in. It is normal. Sometimes they accidently put the wrong size shaft in them (rarely) but the noise makes you turn it off straight away. Give it a week!!

Yes, same brand but different models..

still wondering if its touching the glass...

It is strap on a removable wall holder.. so basically it is touching the glass..
The other powerhead is touching the glass as well but no noticeable vibration..


I really don't know if I should waste money to get another one.. I mean it is a little noisy + vibrating but still working properly at the moment..
