Yes they spend $22,099.4475+ or Php1,000,000.00+ and up just to find and buy the best...

the picture is not mine but the flower horn is look like the same but much better than that is an example...

that was 22K? What makes it worth that? I mean it doesnt look super special besides the KOK and the fins and body

if you buy here in the philippines you can get a quality juvenile for about $60. lol

i got the fish in my avatar for just about P50 or $1.1 at 3.5" about 2 yrs ago.

The picture doesn't look special??? The picture is not mine but we know that a flower horn must observed by a very professional breeder. But a very good looking flower horn doesn't mean it's very special and expensive, try to observe it very carefully. for average breeders of flower horn this flower horn is just ordinary but think properly and look every angle carefully. That's why it is the BEST IN SHOW AND FLOWER HORN GRAND CHAMPION. many of his competitor is much better than him but the judges are very professional in observing HQ FH. "A very special FH is not what we see in actual but inner appearance of it".

and I actually add that the FH worth 22k is not on that pic but much better than that FH.

happy breeding!!! :)

Again I post this picture and observe very carefully... look the inner appearance...

But if you live in the States, there seem to be very few quality stores that carry FH and if you purchase one from over seas there are shipping charges and god forbid it doesn't make it! I totally trust people overseas but for that type of money WOW!

in SOUTHEAST ASIA there are so many HQ FH. In the Philippines there are so many HQ FH that is much cheaper than the other countries.

The ppl who would pay that much for one is rich, brainwashed big time by the hobby, or has a purpose of entering competitions to win some money back. Ive seen many many FHs better than that one and under a thousand
No FH is worth that kind of money. The reason why ppl pay such price is for competition and try to win money with a the fish that's why. The bigger the prize in the area, the more for the FH that's worthy to compete.
But if competitions never existed, FHs would never have gone that high. But there is and that's the hardcore part hobby. And there are so many FHs being bred these days, they are becoming like women. Each man will see something beautiful in a obviously beautiful women that another wont. And there are many beautiful women in this world.
In time there will be more beautiful FHs. If no one buy my pair, I will be line breeding my own beauties. My male is too small right now for the female.

But what's that fish compared to the one in gemcores avatar?

i don't know, man. i think it's ridiculous for someone to spend that much for a fish that will only live for an average of 5 years.

Au Duong Phong is right, there are 2 kinds of purposes why flower horn become very expensive... (1)The price is only for competing purposes or (2)if you really love flower horn you will spend too much money just to get your new beloved pet.

In some cases people just like to outspend their buddy. There are some rich people who just like to spend more than the guy next to him. It is the same in the cattle business, people spend thousands of dollars on an animal that goes off to slaughter just like all the rest. Top prize at some steer shows in the US is $100,000.
