Prickly sculpin!

Would you say < 62 for adults then? The 5 gal would only be a temporary home but maybe I'll wait until I have a free 20 tall and attempt to breed them.

Did you ever set up a tank for them? How did they do?

I saw some of the clearlake subspecies this morning while fishing with a client that could have been easily caught with a net.

Yes, I set up a 10g for a pair I collected last December. They did well for about four months at 62-66° but once the water temp got close to 70° in April, their health deteriorated. They were great fish that I'd love to keep again at some point, but, they'll either need a chiller or I'll need to chill the whole fishroom year round haha.

I have a room chilled to 68 year round so not so concerned about that.

Any advice on their care beyond keep the temps cold?

Perfect. Lots of meaty foods, current is preferable but not necessary, and have lots of caves/hiding spots if you're keeping more than one. They can get pretty aggressive for their size.

Also, Minnows, Dace, Darters, etc. = swimming meals
