Great fish! Are you not scared to get your hand bitten?
Thanks! I was afraid of my old 30"+WAL, this guy, not so much yet. Only handled him for the pic update on size. solid 16"+ already from 6" and 7 months with me.

justarn justarn This is the only reason i parted with my 33" WAL

Been a while on an update for him, crappy pics due to his tub life at the moment. hes already 20" from 6" in about 15 months with me. Hes almost ready for his next enclosure...best to keep them in water as deep as they are long or shallower for easy breathing. u can actually drown them in too deep a tank or too fast current.

He looks pretty epic dude, is that a tank with a tub secured within?
Kinda making me want a lung now, I see them in lfs just laying about, do they move more when settled and become owner responsive?
Can you elaborate on glass banger or share a video pal?

Much appreciated, he's def. one of my favorites in house. I waited over 10yrs to aquire one. Lei himself had a biggen that sparked my interest on here back in 06'.
And yeah its just a rubbermaid tote inside another tank. similiar style to "pup boxes" for newborn rays. The box has an aqualifter tube made from pvc and airline to supply it with fresh water from the rest of the tank.

IME, WAL's are pretty sedentary. Very responsive to ur presence in the room or during feeding time tho. This Aethiopicus is more active in general but not by much. Him up on the side of the box means feed me lol... U can hand feed them but have to be careful. May sound crazy but they can pretty much feel you in the room even in low lighting and begin begging for food.
By glassbanger... i mean they hit real hard when food is dropped near by. can hear em snap their jaws or the thump of em hittin the glass when they attack something. Very low key/lazy but straight killers if when/needed to defend themselves...or grab a fish.
