Wondering if anyone has tried using purigen in a media reactor on a freshwater tank? Not sure how effective it would be but I'm curious...

I know Purigen floats... this would be a deal breaker, right? All of the reactors I have seen, the input is from the bottom with the water going up through sinking media. Also, its extremely fine, almost like dust. Even if you had a top down unit for use with floating media, this stuff being super tiny would leave the reactor.

Or do the reactors have a filter screen? If so, it would have to 100 micron..

Thanks for the info guys...I ended up buying an aquatop reactor...it has an adjustable pump which is nice..packed it full of purigen we'll see how it goes :)uploadfromtaptalk1401417299651.jpg
