I am thinking about changing my cichlid tanks over to PFS instead of gravel. So i called local supply stores in my area for prices and thinking there was only one kind and one place i called said they had #20 PFS. So im wondering is #20 the size you MFKrs use?

I use PFS from Leslie's I have no idea what #20 means, I never looked. I just go to the store and ask for Pool Filter Sand, 50lbs for like $10.00 a bag. So I would say if you go to a pool supply store and get standard PFS you're good to go.

#20 is the size of the grains of sand. It is generally fine in all tanks. I used it on my 240 gallon. It is a cheap effective way of having sand as your substrate. Make sure to wash thoroughly it tends to be very dusty.

thanks guys i just got a 55gal from a buddy of mine and i figured id try it out on it from the start rather than having to take all the gravel out of one of my larger setups...
