You will also probably need some small diameter, soft tubing, to ensure that the food gets down into the gut, and doesn't just spill out of his gills. If I had to force feed. Use a damp hand towel and hold firmly, but gently, and don't keep him out of the water any longer than required. Hopefully that works for you, good luck.

If you can, try and get your hands on some New Life Spectrum Hex-Shield, and force feed that after presoaking it in water until it is a mush like paste. It contains epsom salt, metronidazole, and a mega dose of garlic. This food has worked for me, and if delivered to the gut of the fish for 4-5 days, you should see some improvement. I would feed to both GT's, seeing as the other one is still actively feeding.


As a follow up, in the near future you may also want to consider deworming both fish in this tank, with Levamisole.
