ya I've also tried many others. I put in a convict about 4" and he's lost his tail, pectoral and bottom fins less then one day. I have a 6" black pirhana who I'm trying to find out what would be a good tank mate for him......apparently nothing so far. The convict was very aggressive at my LFS but the BP is just that much more but well equiped. Anyway like others have told me on other forums it's an absolute waste of fish and time to try to mix other fish with pirhanas, their way to unpredictable. As feeders sure but that's it.

well I tried to put a silver arowana with my reds, but it was a failure.
At first the reds was spoked and wouldn't come out in the open, but when they settled in one of the smaller reds nipped the tail of my aro, good thing it didn't hit the flesh.

piranha start out as fin nippers, until they nip enough fin to disable the fish, then they go for flesh. long finned, fancy goldfish was one of the treats I'd use to entertain interested guests, when I kept piranha in Tenn. of course, you can't just sit and stare, you gotta drink beer and talk ****.
