Hi, the wattage of the panel you gets depends on 1) size of enclosure 2) heat requirement of animal 3) average temp of the room. 4) ventilation in the enclosure. I use radiant heat panels paired with a thermostat and I think they are fantastic but there is some guessing you will need to do to get the right wattage. I use a 75 watt in my carpet python enclosure. It's is about 36inch wide x 24 tall x 30 deep. 75 watts easily keeps the right temps. my room temp in the winter dips into the upper 60s. Notice though that the ventilation in this tank is nothing compared to something like a screened chameleon enclosure. it is therefore easier to heat.
